Strong men drinking even stronger cocktails. Mother Lode dismisses the pretense of its neighboring bars by creating a mellow atmosphere with an easygoing vibe.
A classic dive bar, this friendly hideaway is welcoming to all who are fun, and funky and prefer a no-frills, drama-free night out.
Don't let this unassuming dive fool you, this spot gets downright packed and rowdy on the weekends so prepare to rub some elbows... and more with some great Hollywood gays!

Well, well, well - where do I start.....
I've been venturing to Motherlode, well, I think for about 15 years. It is always great to know you can always come here and feel at home. It gets real busy on holiday or event weekends. (For those of you who remember, it was like that every Sunday for Beer Bust- oh, those were the days) Motherlode is still a fun, friendly, no attitude place with great drinks and specials. Check it out, have a drink and mingle. No one bites--unless you let them.
The Best of Weho's Bars
I've always seemed to have a good time and meet someone new when I come here. Been coming to weho for years and of all the bars this has the least amount of tude.
Not On My "To Do" List
I went to West Hollywood to visit the different nightspots and escape the heat in Phoenix last weekend and after reading the reviews this was one of the places I had on my "To Do" list. I was with a genetic lady and we wandered in at about 9:30pm Saturday night. I was well prepared for being in a "dive" bar but I was not prepared for the rudest gay man I had the displeasure of running into being the man behind the bar. In defense of the bar owners and the customers, one gentleman sitting at the bar apologized and was very pleasant afterwards. With the abundance of places to go in WeHo, we chose to leave and ended up at Here which was right around the corner. We visited seven places over the two days and this was the only negative experience so we still love going to Hollywood.
Nice neighborhood bar
One of the longer lasting bars in WeHo, friendly place. Not as pretentious as some other local bars but then I guess that's all relative.
Strongest drinks and nicest staff in WeHo
Hands down they have the nicest staff in WeHo and the strongest drinks for a good price. Very unpretentious bar as are most of the patrons. This is one bar where it works to not update or remodel. It's got a good flow too, often people come here and have a few drinks before they go to other bars so faces change pretty frequently. Tuesday nights when Dirty Burty hosts "Manhole" they have HOT gogo boys and great music. Doesn't take long before the bartenders here start giving you free shots and free drinks, so I highly recommend being a regular!
